The Yamaha end plug it supplied with all brand NEW Yamaha saxophones. It is to protect the end of the saxophone whilst packed in its case. Not only that but to keep the saxophone octave key safe especially on alto and soprano saxophones.
The end plug is probably the easiest component, sold with the saxophone, that goes missing very easily.
