Imagine a solidbody electric guitar with all the comfort of a great broken-in vintage instrument, but with modern appointments aimed at giving you the best possible playing experience. That's what you're going to get with the Fender Custom Shop 1956 Time Machine Journeyman Relic Telecaster.
Vintage-correct construction
There aren't many guitar tones as sought after as a good vintage Tele. The Fender Custom shop 1956 Time Machine Journeyman Relic Tele gives you so many of those to-die-for features, in a modern instrument that is significantly more affordable than a vintage prize. Like with the '56 Journeyman's ancestors, your hand will immediately be comfortable around the tinted quartersawn maple neck, contoured with a 10/56 "V" profile. And the Custom Shop '55/'56 Tele pickups ensure you'll easily get the twang and bite old Teles are famous for.
Modern playability
The Custom Shop 1956 Time Machine Journeyman Relic Tele brings you into the present with updates based around bringing you today's best in playability. You get a modern 9.5" fretboard radius, which is great for both chording comfort and string-bending freedom. And you won't have to fight with barely-there frets. The 6105 fret wire offers you enough clearance from the fretboard for all the unobstructed string control you need. But it's still low enough to be extremely comfortable.
The Journeyman Relic treatment
Though a relic'd guitar finish is almost as common these days as a flawless factory finish, it was the Fender Custom Shop that pioneered the process — and know how to do it better than anyone. Fender offers different levels of finish distressing. One of the newer techniques is the Journeyman, found on Fender Custom Shop's 1956 Time Machine Journeyman Relic Telecaster. You get a look and feel that's used but not abused. Imagine a loved guitar that's been well taken care of, but also definitely been played. Totally broken in, but plays just like a brand-new electric guitar.
