Why Use a Volume Pedal? One of the reasons to use a volume pedal is to attenuate the signal chain to do swells and similar effects. If you were to only use your guitar volume pots, then the volume reduces the signal at its origin. Apart from the physical difficulty at times of picking and strumming whilst moving the volume pot, quite simply the weaker signal into your effects chain reduces the qualities of the signal. Another benefit of using a volume pedal is that you can put it anywhere in the signal chain, creating additional original swell effects.
